October 20, 2021 - October 24, 2021

20th – 24th October 2021.

We are delighted to be exhibiting at this autumn’s Battersea Affordable Art Fair which runs from 20th – 24th October 2021.

We will be showcasing a dynamic exhibition by leading artists Henrietta Dubrey, Emily Powell, Spencer Shakespeare, Ken Spooner and Layla Andrews.

A preview of the work which will be on show is available to view below, and we will be updating this as the Fair approaches.

Alongside major new work from these artists, we will also be exhibiting a selection of small paintings and works on paper under £500.

Please get in touch with us by emailing [email protected] if you’d like to attend or register your interest, as we’d love to welcome you to our stand or share further details about where to find us ahead of the event, or welcome you virtually.

Fair-favourite Henrietta Dubrey returns to Battersea for her first and only Affordable Art Fair of 2021. Henrietta presents a collection of both her signature abstract paintings, inspired by the middle generation of St. Ives artist, and her bold figurative work which explores her fascination with the female form.

As well as a significant number of large-scale pieces, we will also be exhibiting a range of small, highly collectable works on paper priced at £275. What a fabulous way to start your art collection!

Media sensation Emily Powell rocketed up the gallery art scene in 2021 and returns to the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea with a kaleidoscope troupe of animals, florals, harbour scenes and abstract pieces. Emily’s work has been featured in Harpers Bazaar and The Sunday Times Style, she has collaborated with MoMa and The British Museum, and she was part of the 2020 BBC documentary for the Royal Academy summer exhibition show.

Talented, dynamic, ambitious, this early carer artist is certainly one to watch for the future and is our art investment bet!

This is Spencer Shakespeare’s first ever UK AAF, following a successful early career in Australia and internationally.

Hot off the back of his prestigious Porthmeor Studio 5 residency, an award to spend three months creating a new body of work in a historic art studio once occupied by Patrick Heron and Ben Nicholson, he has already caught the eye of some of the UK’s foremost gallerists and is definitely one to invest in for the future.

Interior trend-setters and influencers House of Hackney fell so in love with Ken Spooner’s artworks that his paintings feature in almost every room in their beautiful Trematon Castle and are the lead of their 2021 autumn/winter campaign.

Following a long career exhibiting internationally, and back-to-back blockbuster solo shows in St. Ives in 2020 and 2021, Ken returns to the art fair with a collection of his trademark ‘assemblages’, each piece blurring the line between object, ceramic & painting in riotous multi-media delight.

Layla Andrews is an exciting young artist. Layla’s paintings are collected globally and have caught the attention of many, including President Obama.

Her figurative work is just mesmerising, and Layla will be with us at the Fair to discuss the stories behind the paintings.
Other paintings incorporate elements of her own life and personal object, which each have such a narrative behind them. The rich colours in Layla’s work bring a sense of familiarity, and we can’t help but love her work.

We cannot wait to bring some new and exciting paintings from Layla to our stand to show you!

There are also three evening events to attend, where the complimentary drinks will be flowing – on Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st, and Friday 22nd.

Please let us know in advance if there are any paintings which you wish to see from our extensive online collection, and we will make sure that these come to London with us and are on hand to show you.

Our fantastic team will be at the Fair to meet you.

Curator Alicia is always delighted to talk through hanging ideas, or how to begin collecting.

Octi is our interior design lead and will be delighted to talk through any projects – we’ll have paint charts on hand!

Should you want photoshopped room mock-ups of paintings to scale in your room (either at the Fair or ahead of it), please do email over photos of your space as we’d be delighted to help. Catie will be on hand at the Fair to help with any digital curation needs.

Luke will be at the Fair to curate the private viewing room and run in-house consultations and discuss the gallery’s services, including try-before-you-buy.

Our delivery driver Will is also a dab hand at hanging, and would be delighted to help you install paintings in your home over the weekend.

If you can’t make the Fair but wish use our complimentary service to try before you buy, please do get in touch as we’d love to share further details about this.

We have 100 tickets to share, and we’d love you to have one. Please do feel free to bring a guest, and if you’d like to recommend us to anyone please do let us know as we can share a free ticket with them too!

We are so touched that so many of our clients make the journey down to St. Ives to visit us each summer, and we are thrilled that this year we can come to you.
