29th April – 23rd May 2021.
In our Perranporth gallery
1-2 St. Piran’s Parade, Perranporth, TR6 0BL.

We are delighted to present Alex Yarlett’s first solo show at Livingstone St. Ives, ‘Illumination’.

Celebrating Alex’s love of the light and landscape of his native south coast of Cornwall, as well as the rugged north coast where he loves to explore, these paintings burst with a palette and dynamism that is uniquely Alex’s own.

From large scale studies of early morning light over the Fal Estuary, to the radiant light bouncing off the inlets of the Helford Passage and Camel Estuary; tiny, almost abstracted depictions of the wide seascapes of Perranporth and Polzeath, to Alex’s much loved view from St. Ives up across the wide sweep of Carbis Bay, this collection is a painterly exploration of the range of Cornwall’s seascapes and diverse light.

Painted from early spring to early summer, Alex captures the changing seasonality of the quality of light, as well as the contrast between morning and evening light on each coast.

As an early career artist – Alex is just 33 – we are excited to exhibit one of Alex’s first ever solo exhibitions in our newly relaunched Perranporth gallery.

All work is available to purchase through the gallery. Please contact us via email at [email protected] for more information, or phone (+44) 01872 571997.
