Livingstone St. Ives is thrilled to announce that gallery artist Jack Davis will be residing in Porthmeor Studio 5 for the duration of May 2022.
The prestigious studio space overlooking one of St. Ives most iconic beaches has been home to many artists from St. Ives’ long and rich art history; Jack’s residency follows on from fellow gallery artist Spencer Shakespeare, as well as painters including Ben Nicholson, Partou Zia and Patrick Heron.
A former tutor at the Newlyn School of Art and member of the St Ives Society of Artists, Jack is renowned for creating vast, imposing skyscapes and landscapes which capture the grandeur of the Cornish landscape. Frequently painted en plein air, his canvases evoke the elemental forces of nature and the beauty of the region he has made his home.
We are delighted to welcome visitors to Jack’s studio to observe his work in progress and to be the first to see his finished paintings. If you would like to request a viewing please get in touch on [email protected].
Jack’s solo exhibition ‘Elemental’ is taking place in our Fore Street gallery until May 14th, with larger paintings available on request in Studio 5 throughout May.
