We were delighted to welcome over a hundred guests to our Livingstone St. Ives Clifton art gallery on Thursday to celebrate the first night of Jack Davis’ stunning new solo show The Zennor Series, with award-winning drinks, lively discussion, and some excellent cake. This astounding collection of seascapes, skyscapes and semi-abstracted landscapes transferred from our flagship St. Ives gallery to its sister Clifton gallery last week, and the paintings will be available to view throughout February at 30, The Mall.
To help our guests appreciate the beautiful artwork on display and to stay true to our original St. Ives gallery’s ethos, we kept it Cornish with a choice of award-winning sparkling wine from Camel Valley, a lime and yuzu gin distilled in Cornwall by Tarquin’s.
Artist Jack Davis (and his dog, Winston) were in attendance and he was happy to chat about his work, his artistic process and his inspiration with our guests. Did this have any effect on the number of red dots around the gallery by the end of the evening? Who can say – but we were thrilled when the gallery record for highest-value sale was comprehensively smashed!
The fun went on until late, when speeches were made by Jack and director Alicia Livingstone, and guests were offered a slice of this stunning bespoke cake, created by Livingstone St. Ives’ very own Charlotte Skerrat . It was such a warm welcome, with other business owners from Clifton in attendance, and everyone said what a welcome addition we are to the Clifton art gallery scene.
