This stunning, ambiguous painting invites many interpretations from the viewer. Just as, when gazing into the clouds, shapes and meanings seem to emerge and shift, the light and colours of these towering forms could almost, at first glance, seem to create the outline of a vast celestial angel, wings stretching out over the darkened landscape below.
