Encouraging Morning, 2022

This unusual painting stands out due to its vast sweep of unbroken blue; a high, cloudless morning sky which crowns the massed morning clouds with hope. The clouds are still aflame with the rising sun, forming a warm, tawny line across the horizon and meeting the distant aquamarine of the sea. In the foreground, the sand is textured, still holding the tumult of the night and yet to be smoothed out by the tide. The morning stretches ahead of the viewer, full of possibility and opportunity, a promise renewed every morning with the rising of the sun.
