The distinctive turquoise of the Cornish sea infuses not only the water, but also the sky, haloing the headland and creating a flag of blue, lambent against the paler lavender and greys of the sky. The clouds break again over the far-distant cliffscape, suggesting that this haze is a temporary condition, the sun ready at any moment to triumph.
