26th November 2020 – 31st January 2021.
Online showcase.
An online exhibition including a large selection of Ponckle’s paintings and objects.
Inspired by this winter’s lockdown and the Greek idiom “it’s raining tablelegs and chairlegs”, we are delighted to present an exhibition of paintings and objects exploring domestic space and our relationship with four-legged friends. Alongside a rare collection of paintings by renowned St. Ives artist Ponckle, we present cat paintings by Henrietta Dubrey, dog paintings by Michael Rees, interior scenes by new gallery artist Isobel Litten, a series of imaginary animals by Janet Lynch, and still lifes by Richard Ballinger and Stephen Lavis.

We are delighted to present a large group of paintings and objects by Ponckle. Her dreamlike figures float above the roof tops of St. Ives and in other paintings, her iconic cats gaze lovingly out from window sills across the harbour.
Henrietta Dubrey presents the “cat collection”. Playful, intimate, frolicsome, these works range from large oil paintings to small pencil studies and some new work in pastels, and are a delight to behold.
We are delighted to welcome Isobel Litten to her first exhibition with us at Livingstone St. Ives. Her paintings contain naïve figuration and simple domestic scenes, suggesting intimacy, alongside intricate patterning, often referenced from fabric or embroidery design.
Michael Rees celebrates becoming the owner of new puppy Bunny with a joyful series of paintings and drawings depicting life with his new companion.
Janet Lynch presents a series of works in which dogs and cats – including big cats – appear as spirit-world companions. Wild dogs and cats appear as complex representations of desire, keenly attending or strolling aloofly around their companion.
We also feature still life paintings by Richard Ballinger and Stephen Lavis, and a rare cat painting by Mary Feddon.
All work is available to purchase from the gallery. We ship work throughout the UK and internationally. For more information please contact the gallery on [email protected].
